For all but the biggest jobs, you don’t need a contractor so there is no wasted time and aggravation gathering bids. You can apply it as needed, when it’s convenient for you (minimizing down time) or on areas too small to interest a contractor.

It’s This Simple – First, clean the floor of grease and oil, and patch or prime if necessary. Then mix the contents of the can (cans) thoroughly. Apply with our special phenolic roller—which builds the correct anti-slip profile as you pull it across the surface. Let it dry. You’re done!

The Right Tools for the Job – Application of these products is made easy with a speciality sprayer or specialized easy-to-use rollers available from American Safety Technologies. Our napless, phenolic-resin coated, core roller is essential for creating the correct anti-slip profile. The 9” roller cage is built for rugged use. Our heavy-duty fiberglass extension handle allows you to pull the coating towards you with the correct downward pressure. The stainless-steel mixing blade is indispensable for thoroughly blending anti-slip coatings.

MS-11CZ LT Surface Primer is a low temperature curing, heavy duty, anti-corrosive modified epoxy primer which forms a tough abrasion resistant film that protects the substrate from salt and chemical attack. Additionally, MS-11CZ LT is a HAPS free primer which contains specially formulated zinc complexes which provide “State of the Art” cathodic protection against corrosion of steel decks on Navy vessels. This unique ability allows MS-11CZ LT to meet the extreme demands of a system in marine environments. MS-11CZ LT provides excellent protection of surfaces against aggressive and corrosive environments.

ANTI CORROSIVE LOW V.O.C METAL PRIMER

LOW V.O.C. WATER-BASED EPOXY PRIMER/SEALER

PS-100 WB is a two-component epoxy sealing primer designed to increase the adhesion and coverage of American Safety Technologies flooring products on concrete, wood, tile and other porous substrates. This low odor and low VOC formula makes it ideal for use in kitchens, hospitals, and other odor sensitive areas.

Easy to handle and apply, PS-100 WB penetrates deep into the surface ensuring good adhesion of the top coat.

NEW CONCRETE

New concrete should be wet cured for at least three days and allowed to dry with good ventilation for an additional thirty days.

After proper curing, new floors must be swept clean and all contaminants which might interfere with the adhesion of the coating system including laitance, curing membranes, surface hardeners, greases and oils should be removed. An appropriate profile must be created using chemical or mechanical means.

The preferred method to prepare floor surfaces and to remove laitance, curing membranes and surface hardeners is by mechanical removal of the same with a portable shot blast cleaning machine.

Chemical cleaning of laitance and unbonded particles can be accomplished by etching the surface with a muratic acid or a buffered acid solution. Follow acid manufacturer’s application and safety instructions.

After the acid has finished reacting with the concrete the residue should be removed by a liberal fresh water rinse or preferably by power washing. Allow the surface to completely dry.

NOTE: Acid etching will not remove oil, grease or wax. If the acid does not bubble or foam when spread on the concrete, the surface should be examined for films of oil, grease, wax, curing membranes, hardeners or other sealers. If such film is present, it must be removed.

AGED AND UNCOATED CONCRETE FLOORS

Proceed as for New Concrete with particular emphasis on examination for grease, oil and chemical contamination and subsequent adequate cleaning.

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES

The performance of American Safety Technologies’ anti-slip coatings applied over previously painted surfaces is directly influenced by the type, age and condition of the old coating. Hard or glossy paints should be dulled by sanding, abrasive blasting or other abrasive methods to assure maximum adhesion. A test patch should be applied to check for lifting or wrinkling of the old coating. If wrinkling or lifting occurs after overnight drying, remove the old coating.

WOOD

A clean sound surface is required. Remove any dirt or oils from the surfaces with a commercial cleaner/degreaser and allow the surface to dry. Follow with sanding to remove loose or deteriorated surface and to obtain the proper surface profile.

Prep & Application Technique for PS-100 WB Primer

1. PS-100 WB is a two-part epoxy. Pour the hardener into the container of base material and mix thoroughly with a drill and Jiffy® mixing blade for 3 to 5 minutes. Apply by using a short nap roller or brush.

2. All American Safety Technologies topcoats can be successfully applied to a primed surface after 6 hours at 70°F (21°C).

Primed surfaces may be left exposed for up to 7 days. If top coating is delayed more than 7 days, the area, after cleaning, should be brush-blasted and, the PS-100 WB reapplied.

Clean tools and spray equipment immediately after completing installation using soap and water.

IMPORTANT

Unlike conventional epoxies PS-100 WB will not harden in the can. It will remain liquid after its 2 hour potlife. Therefore, no material should be used 2 hours after mixing as it will not cure properly.

AS-2500 is a 100% solids, zero VOC, two component epoxy anti-slip coating designed for the most demanding environments. AS-2500 provides superior resistance to chemicals and heavy traffic while providing safer footing and traction for rolling equipment. It is odorless and can be used in odor sensitive applications such as wineries, food processing facilities, hospitals and confined areas. Now available in a low temperature cure version for rapid return to service. The LTC hardener can be used at temperatures down to 35˚F allowing for application in refrigerated areas or cold environments.

Fire retardant in the cured state, AS-2500 resists fire, most acids, alkaline, solvents, grease, oil, salt water, detergents, alcohol, gasoline, jet fuels, and other hydraulic fluids.

Standard Colors: Gray, Black, Tile Red, and Safety Yellow.
